September was still quite warm, so we did a lot of outdoors things. We went apple picking early this year, we helped mommy make a couple of batches of spaghetti sauce from her garden tomatoes and we ran in the Little Fritter Run again!
It was a warm day when we went to Lyman Orchards to get our apples.
Jonna and Joelle are nearly as tall as the sunflower.
Joelle was a two-fisted apple eater!
Jonna loves the Jonagold apples. I wonder if it's the taste or the name?
We had a bumper crop of tomatoes this year (25 plants will do that to you!) so the girls helped me make sauce.
We blanched the tomatoes and then peeled them. What a mess.
Jonna and Joelle helped to peel.
Next step - squeeze 'em to death to get the juice and seeds out.
Amber Kaldy, Jonna and Joelle enjoy hot cocoa before the start of the Little Fritter Run in Southington.
The girls check out the map with the vendors.

Joelle and Alyssa McKee finish the race!
Medal winners!
Here come the kids with Coach Chris and Coach Bridget leading the way.
Jonna and Coach Bridget cross the finish line of their first race.
Jonna, Amber and Amanda ran two races (and got double the medals) while Joelle and Alyssa just ate fritters after the run.
