JOURNAL: Sept. 2009 · August 21, 2009
Back to school September 10, 2009

So now we are back to school. Jonna has finished her first week of first grade, including riding the school bus to and from home. Joelle is in Pre-K now and has adapted easily.

This Sunday the girls will return to Chinese school again as well.

Richard is happy to have a quiet house again to look for work and to work on his freelance projects.

Sadly, I am back to my "football" schedule, meaning I have to work on Sundays while the rest of you enjoy the NFL. However, I'll be back coaching in the No Boundaries program again, so look out!

Not sure where the summer went, but it sure went quickly.

Summer's final days August 21, 2009

This summer has gone by so quickly! Jonna will start first grade in just two weeks. (It doesn't help that she got out of school on June 25 and June and July were the rainiest it's been in decades!)

The summer hasn't been kind to our garden. Late blight, which has devastated gardens throughout New England, got to my garden as well. I lost 9 tomato plants to it (out of 15) along with my pumpkins, cantalope and peppers to the rain. Sigh.

We had a great time in Maine; it always goes much too quickly. But as you can see by the photos, we had a great time.

Jonna finished up her first summer of YMCA camp and had a good time. Joelle is about to transition into the pre-kindergarten classes at her daycare. Richard is still looking for work, although he did have a job interview in mid-July. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

I'm about to go back to my football schedule, which makes the end of summer even more bittersweet.
